In designing the East Campus Village Commons at The University of Georgia, Collins Cooper Carusi Architects needed products that could stand up to daily student use. They chose Scuffmaster Solid Metal and Smooth Pearl for the durability and color availability when specifying paint for the new dining hall.
The new facility includes a new 1200 bed East Campus Village Housing complex, the university's performing and visual arts complex, space for a future art school and the students' physical education complex. The facility also includes a 580 seat dining hall with servery and kitchen, a cyber cafe, student common areas, administrative offices and production kitchen for the university's satellite food operations.
The East Campus Village Commons has quickly become is the "symbolic center" of the university development of the precinct.
