  ASTM Performance Tests

  The internationally accepted method to determine the quality of paint is to evaluate test scores published by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).

  ScrubTough from Scuffmaster received the highest overall score from the ASTM in terms of scratch resistance, stain resistance and durability.   ASTM D2486 Scrub Resistance Test

  Scuffmaster uses the ASTM D2486 Scrub test to demonstrate the durability of our finishes. In this test, dried paint samples are repeatedly scrubbed with an abrasive brush until the surface of the paint deteriorates. This determines the number of "scrubs to failure". The higher the number, the more durable the paint.

  Scuffmaster finishes wildly outperform the competition with ratings of 4000, 8000 and even in excess of 25,000(!) scrubs compared to an average of 550 for the leading brands.
